Afternoon Plans Made

I started the day by checking NationalDayCalendar.com and was delighted to learn that today is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day. I now know exactly what I will be doing this afternoon. Baking cookies! I love baking cookies and chocolate chip cookies are a favorite of mine.

I found some chocolate chip cookie items from Zazzle, Amazon and eBay to share with you today. I hope you find a bit of inspiration here today. Maybe by this evening you will have spent some time mixing, baking and tasting something delicious like I plan to.

From Zazzle you can get a beautifully designed sticker if your baking leads to gift giving. By the way if you do this can I give you my address? Just kidding but consider how it could brighten someone's day to do that. You can find this item on Zazzle by clicking right here.

If you are not a baker there is always someone who is. I found a 100% rated baker on eBay. If you live in Pensacola, Florida you can pick up for free, or if not, have a couple dozen shipped right to your door. If you want to buy in quantity for a special occasion or just because you can get discounts for a larger order. Consider that and use this link to learn more.

If you want to think about cookies but not take in all the calories, consider this next item. I found this one on Amazon. You could give it to yourself, or it would make a great gift for a housewarming, wedding shower or your favorite baker. Purchase this kitchen towel by clicking here.

The power went out here for about 10 minutes as I was finishing up this post. This time of year in Arizona that is definitely not a good thing. It is going to be another warm one, it is August after all, with temperatures at about 110 degrees for our expected high.

All links in today's post are affiliate links and I could earn a small commission if you click and then make a purchase. This is no cost to you of course.

Take care and stay cozy!
And stay cool!

Sunflowers Collection on Zazzle

Sunflowers, the Kansas state flower, and a flower I find so beautiful just watching them follow the sun through the day makes me smile. Kansas, where I was born, made many in the nation proud this week when the voters chose to keep choice a real thing in their state. Although my parents moved our family to California when I was 8, this week I am proud to have my roots there.

A while back I created a collection on Zazzle that showcases these sun loving flowers on lots of amazing finds. It seems fitting to share them with you today. Take a look at just a few examples.

Would you fancy having your sunflowers on your cup of tea each morning?

What about on a recipe binder for your favorite cook?

How about a cute personalized way to carry you library books or shopping?

For some reason this one makes me smile while imagining a much younger me rolling down the sidewalk. Isn't this skateboard deck design just wonderful?

If you are in the mood for sunflower shopping use the widget below to take you to my finds to start your browsing.

Zazzle Newbie Here

I have been meaning to do this for a long time. So why not today? Do what? Start adding my own pictures to blank products on Zazzle for someone to buy. I remember the nerves when starting on Etsy and this feels much the same. I am barely an okay photographer but I have some images I really like and hope others will too.

I started today with a nice and easy to accomplish design on a rectangular jigsaw puzzle. This picture was taken on the day we arrived back on Seattle from an Alaskan Cruise on a Holland America ship this July. We took a tour of the Space Needle and wandered around the grounds around it. I saw the Totem Pole and loved the carving and the colors. If puzzles are your thing like they are mine you can get this in multiple sizes and piece counts.

I'll have more designs coming soon. Everyone starts with that first listing and today was my day for that.

Coming Soon!

I know, I know Valentine's Day is nearly a month away. But holy cow it is only a month away! With so many of us shopping online and shipping times not as predictable as they used to be because so many are shopping online the time to think about gifts or home decor for this upcoming special day is getting critical. If you are considering a personalized gift from a maker on a place like Etsy the time is now!

Last week on Twitter I started sharing Valentine's Day finds from my affiliate connections on EBay, Society 6, Zazzle and Amazon Handmade. If you follow me on Twitter you may have seen some of these.

As I said the links in these tweets are for affiliates. I could earn a small commission if you click on one of them and then do some shopping at the site. This would cost you nothing and could in a small way keep my husband from knowing how much I spend on yarn so we can have a Happy Valentine's Day too. Thanks!

Nativity Searches on Etsy, Ebay, Amazon, Society6 and Zazzle

Last week here on the blog I shared some Santa images from Etsy. On Twitter I shared Santa products from other companies where I am an affiliate.

This week the focus will be Nativity products. With Christmas on Friday it may be too late for orders for this year but I like the mood and thoughtfulness these images create in me.  If you do click on links in this post and then make a purchase I may qualify for a small commission at no cost to you except on Etsy where I am just a cheerleader and not an affiliate.

First up is a beautiful tree skirt that I found on Zazzle. I love watercolor art and even though this is a digital design it still has the watercolor look that I like.

Next is a framed print that I found on Society6. We are a weary world and I hope to find small things to rejoice about.

For something to hang on your tree I found a Nativity ornament on Amazon Handmade.

For something to display on a mantel or wherever you might have a bit of space I found this Lenox Nativity on Ebay.

Finally something from Etsy. I am not an affiliate here but I love to window shop.  Isn't this handmade wooden Nativity just lovely? This shop (RETIREDELF) will be accepting orders to be shipped in the New Year. I am glad an Etsy seller has had such a wonderful season.

I hope you saw something you like today and had a gentle reminder why we are celebrating the season and the day this Friday.

Merry Christmas!

International Bow Day

It is, today August 19th, International Bow Day. It was started by Claire's in 2017 to celebrate and share bows, those they have in the store and the style current and past. Of course bows are available in their shops. In truth I haven't been in a Claire's in ages. The last time I think I bought hair sticks to put my long hair up on warm days.

You can shop for bows and bow art in other places too. I found a couple for you to check out if you wish. On Society 6 and Zazzle I did a search for hair bow and am sharing a couple of my finds below. Which item is more your style? Maybe it is because I am a Gemini but I like both. I don't really believe in astrology except when it comes in handy for an excuse. LOL

Look what I found on Society 6 with a bow on it. Wouldn't this be a great gift for yourself or someone else?  You can check out all the details by clicking HERE.

Going back now from modern to Victorian times with the artwork I found on Zazzle. So pretty, don't you think so? You can get this art on several different products. Check out the details on Zazzle by clicking HERE.

(Links to Society6 and Zazzle are affiliate and I may receive a small commission at no cost to you if you make a purchase.)

If you are wondering, I find out about these celebration days at NationalDayCalendar.com.

Left Handed Day!

Yes I do love being left handed. I write, eat, knit, crochet and everything else left handed. My one exception would be when I use a computer. I use the mouse with my right hand. I did discover that using a mouse with my right hand does have a very useful advantage for me. If I need to to take notes on anything the pen and paper are ready to go! So very efficient!

My biggest struggle as a lefty is using cutting tools. Knives, believe it or not, are many times sharpened in a way that works best for right handed people. Most of you wouldn't know that. Other kitchen tools like spatulas and ladles are made most times for the right handed. We lefties learn to cope and move on. In the grand scheme of things it's small stuff.

So I plan on taking the rest of the day to enjoy my left handed holiday with some left handed knitting so I can avoid other chores because who wants to do those, right?

This post has Zazzle affiliate links. The left handed attitude is my own.

Dinner Tonight

Yesterday was National French Fry Day. Did you know? I use the site nationaldaycalendar.com to find out about these things. You can follow them on twitter too. So I found some cute french fry things on Zazzle to tweet including the one below. I am a Zazzle affiliate. For you that doesn't mean a thing if you make a purchase there after clicking a Zazzle link that I post. For me it means a small commission. So who do you love more than french fries?
Today is National Mac n Cheese Day and Tape Measure Day. So guess what is for dinner tonight at my house?

Friday Funny

I have been checking out postcards on Zazzle this week. I am a Zazzle affiliate and have fun window shopping for things to share. Earlier this week I tweeted some travel themed postcards and today the theme was humor. So far nobody has used my link to make a purchase but the eternal optimist that I am knows my day will come.

Most of the time I share links on Twitter but today I found one and said that's so me and I want to save the idea here on the blog. I do have to clear my head before starting a new story. What about you?

Please note that I am a Zazzle associate. This means that if you make a purchase using links in this post I can get a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Now about those calendars that I found, see if any of them would be right for you. If not then take a look for yourself because my search turned up 126000 results and I can't share them all.

Top Five Posts of 2019

Wandering through blogs stats this last Friday of the year I decided to share my top 5 posts by views of the year. I have found this year that blogs don't get the traffic they used to just by people exploring blogger or blogspot like they used to. Now I find that to bring folks here I need to post about whatever I share on Twitter. I have a wonderful bunch of followers on Twitter and sharing a nice tweet with a picture can bring views here to the blog.

Do any of you remember when at the top of a blogger blog there was a button for next blog? I used to discover so many amusing, instructive, creative or varied themed blogs that I followed and enjoyed. At one time I think I followed more than 1000 of these. Remember Google Reader? Still not happy with Google over doing away with that! Nowadays I use Feedly and it is good but not the same. So many of those blogs are inactive now and the days of a simple little blog seem to be ending. However as long Google keeps blogspot going I will be here writing, not consistently even though I want to be a reliable blogger.

Back to those top 5. They are an interesting group of posts and the topics weren't any one particular theme.

The most viewed post was about crocheted discloths. I made these for my son's family and last I was at his house I saw that most of them have avoided being chewed up by the family dog. LOL

Number two this year was about an Etsy shop that made me say "Wow". This post was about photograher Randy Nyhof. His work still causes the same reaction when I see it. Check out his shop if you are interested.

Third most viewed popular post was about You Tuber Brandon Farris. I haven't really kept up with everything on his channel, but maybe I should make time. Laughter is the best medicine after all.

This post was about a piece, I think, of old wallpaper I found in an old buffet that has been passed around in my family. I found it lost behind a drawer. I asked family members, readers of the blog and twitter followers then if the paper looked familiar to anyone with no luck.

Last of my top five most viewed posts share black and white art on Zazzle. I have an affiliate account with Zazzle. That means that if someone uses my referral link and then makes a purchase I get a small commission. That hasn't happened yet but I am an optimist. It will someday and in the meantime I get to share some really great things.

So there you have it. Looking back on these was enjoyable for me. Writing this post also helped me form some blogging goals for the coming year. More posts about cool Etsy and Zazzle shops and more about my current and finished projects top that list of goals.

Also if you need a laugh I still recommend Brandon Farris on You Tube.

March is Crochet Month

Do you have an email inbox full of newsletters that get passed over most of the time. Just me? Oh really? LOL

Anyway I just found a newsletter today, the 19th of March, sharing with me that March is crochet month. When I found out I knew I just had to find some things to share with you that are about the craft I love the most, crochet. I am sure if you are in the mood you can find project or crochet alongs on Ravelry of many other places all over the web. Crocheting will be the focus for my posts here for the rest of the week. I hope to find and share some things you may enjoy.

Starting off is Zazzle.com. You now I have yet to type a word in the search box there and not come up with projects that make me laugh, dare I say spark joy or would fill a need, want or just gotta have it desire. The number of talented designers on that site is simple amazing.

For the word crochet I found a tote bag, a coffee cup or tea cup if you prefer, a pretty binder for storing patterns and a magnet letting the world know why you are a hooker.

Comments are always welcome! Do you crochet? When did you learn? What kinds of items do you crochet? Who do you like to crochet for? Do you do it for sanity like I do? Let's talk!

Black and White Art on Zazzle

Yesterday where I am in Arizona it was gray and cloudy all day. The rain started overnight and is supposed to be around until tomorrow morning. At home in Wyoming a long snowy winter is dragging its feet and not giving in to the springtime that everyone is waiting for. The beauty of these times can be found in details and a lack of color.

In this mood I did some window shopping for black and white art on Zazzle and found some things to share with you.

Black and White Highland Cow Poster

Statue of liberty in fog poster

lion pencil art lion roar black and white poster

Country Barn Clouds in Black and White Poster

See anything that appeals to you?  I like them all and all the different feelings each image evokes. Can't pick a favorite here and I see no reason to try.

The links in this post to Zazzle are affiliate links. If you purchase something after clicking a link here I may get a small commission at no extra cost to you but you have my gratitude.

Shamrocks on Zazzle

Do you think of St. Patrick's Day when March begins? I do. I love the lovely green of springtime that it brings into my world. I suppose it does help that I am a bit Irish among other things.

I checked out Zazzle for shamrock items and was amazed at the range of things you can find to bring this fun yearly holiday into your home.

I found an article from 2010 on the National Geographic site that tells the story of this holiday. The article says that St. Patrick's Day with traditions of wearing green, the symbol of the shamrock everywhere, green beer and rivers and parades is an American invention. In Catholic Ireland it is really no different than any other saints day.

Now how about some of that stuff I found on Zazzle? Well here you go!

I thought this sticker was so pretty!

Wear your shamrock with a message of love.

Not sure if there is time to order invitations for this year but there's always next year and you are now proudly planning ahead. LOL

As for me, exercise is done, breakfast and getting dressed are done, podcasts are playing in the background, blog post is nearly done. The rest of the day will be working on listings in the Etsy shop. I will probably share more about those here later in the week.
