National Snack Food Month

I didn't know but I do now courtesy of NationalDayCalendar.com, that February is National Snack Food Month. Sounds good to me, after all what would a day be like without a snack sometime during it? I lean towards salty and crunchy snacks since I don't eat sugary foods. Chips are my weakness but I do like all kinds of nuts, popcorn and combinations like cheese and crackers or crackers with peanut butter.

I found the bags below on Amazon Handmade from the Bright Eyes Boutique. (affiliate link) This online shop is the combined work of a group of women in Utah and they have plenty of things like these bags and bowl covers that will help you reduce your need for single use plastic.

National School Librarian Day

I love libraries. I love and admire the people who work in them. School libraries are a special place for students and I am so glad that nearly all schools have one. I don't spend enough time in libraries, and I need to do something about that. That said, what I want you to know today is that it is National School Librarian Day.

I am sure that showing your appreciation for your school librarian would be welcomed any day, any time. I found a couple of book related gifts on Amazon (affiliate links in this post) that you might like to check out.

The shirt is right. There is no such thing as too many books.

This quote from Plato sums up how I feel about books and what school librarians can give to students through the books in their collections.

These items come from the handmade category on Amazon. Have you checked out that category lately?

Considering Online Marketplaces

Happy Wednesday! I don't know what the day will bring but want to start with a positive attitude.

We finished the last episode of the last season of Mrs. Maisel last night. I really loved this show and will miss it. The monologue she did on the Gordon Ford show was one of the best she ever did in the show. I won't give away anything else. I still don't really like the jumping around of the timeline this season had but it is what it is.

While upstairs doing laundry I started knitting a mindless scarf. This one is the last that I have planned out of the Lion Brand Shawl in a Ball. I bought, I think 6 different colorways at very good prices and when done will have a triangular shawl and a wide scarf knit on the bias out of each color. Hope they sell.

Speaking of selling...
I am considering moving from Etsy to eBay and Amazon Handmade. There are no up front costs with either of those and both sites have more traffic that Etsy. Anyone have any experiences with eBay or Amazon Handmade they would like to share? Comments are open and I would love to hear from you.

I don't like what is going on with Etsy concerning strange bot take downs of products and holds on payments that are happening so often these days. On top of that I still feel that Etsy has lost control of their marketplace. I have a shop that I have been reporting for months. It is so very obviously a reseller. This shop lists all its wholesalers as production partners and its listings as handmade and it is so infuriating! Let's face it, Etsy hasn't been what its founder imagined for a very long time and I miss that Etsy. Whoops, slipped off the positive attitude already. Damn.

Deep breath and I'll be moving on to twitter now.

That means if you click and then make a purchase I may get a small commission at no extra cost to you. I get a bit of yarn money, an artisan makes a sale and you hopefully get something you are really happy with. I call that win-win-win.

Nativity Searches on Etsy, Ebay, Amazon, Society6 and Zazzle

Last week here on the blog I shared some Santa images from Etsy. On Twitter I shared Santa products from other companies where I am an affiliate.

This week the focus will be Nativity products. With Christmas on Friday it may be too late for orders for this year but I like the mood and thoughtfulness these images create in me.  If you do click on links in this post and then make a purchase I may qualify for a small commission at no cost to you except on Etsy where I am just a cheerleader and not an affiliate.

First up is a beautiful tree skirt that I found on Zazzle. I love watercolor art and even though this is a digital design it still has the watercolor look that I like.

Next is a framed print that I found on Society6. We are a weary world and I hope to find small things to rejoice about.

For something to hang on your tree I found a Nativity ornament on Amazon Handmade.

For something to display on a mantel or wherever you might have a bit of space I found this Lenox Nativity on Ebay.

Finally something from Etsy. I am not an affiliate here but I love to window shop.  Isn't this handmade wooden Nativity just lovely? This shop (RETIREDELF) will be accepting orders to be shipped in the New Year. I am glad an Etsy seller has had such a wonderful season.

I hope you saw something you like today and had a gentle reminder why we are celebrating the season and the day this Friday.

Merry Christmas!

Amazon Handmade, Cozy on Etsy, Photo of the Day

What's on my mind?

I have been an Amazon Associate for a long time. For that long time I never really did much about that association. Since Amazon has started their Handmade on Amazon department it seemed like a good time to see if I can start collecting a few commissions for showing off handmade things that I love.

There really are some beautiful things. I did a search for fall decor and found perfect decorations and other items for this time of year. A few examples and then you can go find your own!

Cozy on Etsy Shop News

Not a lot of shop excitement this week. My coupon has ended. I really hoped that someone, anyone, everyone would take advantage of 20% off.

I did add a new scarf, the one you see here on the right, to the shop. It is a lovely deep purple and the yarn is very light although it has the chunky look that seems to be so trendy these days. I love this scarf and if someone else doesn't take it soon I may pull it and keep it for myself. Don't snooze and loose if you like it.

Photo of the Day

This one is from my first November in Jackson. My granddaughter trying to fit in the Wyoming motto of "Forever West" came to visit in boots and a hat from Salt Lake. She took them off when playing in the grass and leaves. It was a lovely day and a lovely time and this image captures that for me.

I put this image in a pinned tweet for this month. If you are interested you can follow me on Twitter @CozyAtoZ.
