December Flowers and Birthstones

December, yes, it is already. For December birthdays the flowers of the month seem like a lot. They include Narcissus, Orchids, Holly or Poinsettias. Lovely flowers each and every one. For birthstones it is the lovely blue topaz or Turquoise.

We have a couple December birthdays in our family. I always tried to keep those celebrations very separate from Christmas, so the person had a special day the same as if they were born in July. Do any of you have the same issues in your family?

On Amazon I found a very pretty pair of earrings that include both of the birthstones. Check then out here > affiliate link. Wouldn't they make a lovely gift for someone you love or even treat yourself no matter when your birthday is?

Back with more again soon.

September is National Mushroom Month

I find it fun and sometimes amusing to look up a national day or month and then window shop for items that fit the theme. Today I am sharing items that fit in with National Mushroom Month. I know some of you probably love them and some of you (one of my sisters and my daughter) would never ever consider eating mushrooms. Well you don't need to eat mushrooms to enjoy today's picks.

Let me show you...

There you have it. Mushrooms from 4 different shopping sites in 4 very different styles. Would you choose any or all of them?

Happy National Mushroom Month!

Exquisite Studios

Well I haven't blogged in awhile. I do things, go places, take pictures meaning to share them here and then, well I am sure most of you know how it goes. Maybe someday I will share more of those moments, but today I am sharing a wonderful shop on Etsy. Exquisite Studios is our Group2020 shop of the week.

Group2020 is a small group of artisans who have met here and there around the web and have joined together to promote each other with pins, tweets, facebook posts, G+ posts and blog posts. Some of us are more active on one social media outlet than another and it all works out. Look for us on Twitter to be using #group2020 to see our featured shop and items each week.

NOW on to sharing Exquisite Studios!

The ring is absolutely beautiful and I love it. I wasn't really looking for a ring but then I saw it and knew it was the one for me. Emily is so great to work with and she has such amazing pieces. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on her shop :)
Let me just say that this ring is even MORE beautiful in person! Its so unique and I get compliments on it DAILY. I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase, and the customer service of this shop is outstanding!
Above are just a couple of the many glowing reviews of what you can find in this shop filled with stunning pieces of vintage jewelry brought back to life by this talented artisans hands. If I had to pick a favorite it would be an impossible task but I will show you a couple items that caught my eye while looking over the shop to prepare this post.

Randomly Sharing Peachtree Cottage on Zibbet

On schedule today and randomly sharing a shop I came across. This time it is Peachtree Cottage.

My favorite items among all that is in the shop such as beaded jewelry, crocheted baby items and more are the tatted designs. Tatting is a way to make handmade lace and to me a skill that produces the most beautiful products. Show us you say?
Well I will.

A Bracelet

A Victorian Bookmark

Butterfly Earrings

Most of the items in the shop can be custom ordered in colors of your choice. There are many more bookmarks, more earrings, and pendants, all of them tatted.

The seller introduces herself on the shops profile page with these words.
I create chainmaille, beaded and wire wrapped jewelry; shuttle tatted bookmarks, jewelry, and other tatted items; crochet and knit baby blankets, sweater sets, and home decor items. All are personally handmade and quality checked by me.

Handcrafting is part of my heritage and has been handed down through my family over the years, from my mother's mother, to my mother, to me. I have been crafting for over 50 years. Even with years of hand crafting experience, I continue to research new ideas and concepts as I create each of my creations, or patterns.

Mission - To use my skills and knowledge to make creative, quality, handmade creations in Jewelry, Crochet and Tatting. Also to create beautiful as well as functional items which will enhance peoples lives and bring a smile to their faces at affordable prices.

Jewelry - Sparkling timeless elegance is yours with my handmade jewelry. My chainmaille, beaded and tatted jewelry items are carefully handmade and quality double checked to ensure you are receiving my best creations. Chainmaille jewelry brings artistic, ageless beauty to items appropriate for both men and women. Creating with beads allows for sparkle, color, and modern designs. Handmade lace tatted jewelry allows for the romance of yesteryear, a feminine flair, and a personal touch in your jewelry.

Tatting - The art of making lace using a shuttle and thread captured my interest several years ago. Since that time I have worked hard to achieve the status of Artist for shuttle tatting (I am currently working towards Master). Bookmarks, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, decorations, etc. all made knot by knot are perfect as gifts or as a special treat for yourself.

Crochet and Knit - Don't you just love the soft skin of a little newborn baby? I've always felt babies deserved something special just for them. My sweaters, hats, booties, and blankets or afghans are made with super soft yarn to caress them gently. My handmade items make wonderful baby shower gifts or pamper your own baby with sweet, soft items from my hooks and needles! They are also great for Reborn Dolls!

Home Decor - Bring graceful, timeless elegance to your decor with my selection of thread creations for your home. Carefully created one stitch at a time my bookmarks, doilies, and tissue box covers bring warmth, comfort and style to every room of your home. Pamper yourself with a touch of hand made elegance for your home!

Memberships - I was the Founder and Leader of the Thread Artist Guild® from 2005 to 2013. I am honored to have achieved the level of Master Artist. I am also a founding member of the Guild of Master Bearcrafters. In addition, I maintain membership in the Crochet Guild of America.

Lehane Arts Shop of the Week

Today I want to share with you all the Group2020 shop of the week. Lehane Arts is a new shop but not new to selling on Etsy. She has recently decided to separate her chainmaille jewelry form her other work and formed a new shop. In this shop you will find lovely beaded pieces in the form of necklaces and earrings. The jewelry includes Celtic inspirations, mood jewelry, dichroic pendants and much more.

From the shop profile page I found this statement that sets the tone for the works you will see.
Symbolism, color, shape, size, and material are all elements involved in each of my creations. I think of beads and my jewelry creations as connections between the day-to-day world and the supernatural world just beyond our view, a world of beauty and eternity. Certain gemstones may exude positive energies and colors also can influence our awareness. Color informs mood.
I love the colors and the swirls resembling waves in the pendant.

A brilliant stone don't you think?

A beautiful deep red for days when you want to feel bold and powerful.

Almost A Neighbor

I did not know this until today but the Designs by Vanessa shop owner and I are nearly neighbors. We both live in the Phoenix metro area. Could it also be a coincidence that we both love birds although I don’t interpret them into art as beautifully as she does. I just adopted one for my mascot so to speak.

Let me show you a couple of my favorite things in her shop right now.

I like the contrast of the dark metal with the delicate pink in these earrings and of course the birdies.

These cute cards come in a set of 3 and are blank so you do your own message for any occasion.

Her blog is well worth following. She makes some fabulous finds and shares them all there. Find the Designs by Vanessa blog right here!

You may find something new and wonderful.

Wow!

I went window shopping again this morning. From the back pages of a search on Etsy for etsyloggers team I found the lovely bracelet you see here. It comes from the shop Morning Sky Jewelry and what follows is what she wants you to know about it.
This handmade chainmaille (also known as chainmail) bracelet is handcrafted from 18 gauge copper rings woven in a European 4 in 1 pattern.
The 18 gauge hook clasp is also handcrafted.

This piece, although smooth and flexible, is quite substantial with a bit of weight to it. It has been tumbled to a shiny copper finish which will age over time to a deep rich brown. If you prefer the shiny look it can be polished with a copper cleaner or soaked in ketchup for a few hours and then scrubbed with a soft brush (Yes it really works - I have done it)!

This bracelet measures approximately 7-1/4 inches (18.5cm)in length including the clasp and will fit a 7 inch (17.75)wrist.
It measures approximately 3/4 of an inch (2cm)wide.

This bracelet can be lengthened or shortened upon request. If you need an adjustment made, please allow an additional 2 days for shipping.

This bracelet reminds me of knitting which I do. Can you imagine the skill it takes to do it with copper? To see more of this artists work check out the shop.

Ling Glass

I don't wear much jewelry but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the beauty of it. This etsy seller was one of the first on the site and has always stood out among all the rest. These pictures should tell you why.

In her own words-
= About my works =
Art Nouveau jewelry is mainly where my inspiration comes from. I love the flow of each design and the craftsmanship.

I've been making glass pendants for more than 10 years. Being able to achieve good soldering skill is through years of practising, no secret tips or any special tools used. Though my skill is not 100% perfect, but it's enough to impress myself and many of the people who has bought my glass pieces.
I've been able to sell at a reasonably low price because I try to increase my speed in making each pieces.

I hope you'll enjoy browsing my shop as much as I enjoy creating new pieces. :-)
