The Sisters Arrived

By midday both of my sisters were here. All the chatter began and Jim interrupted it to ask if we were ever going to eat dinner. Since I had chicken in the crockpot, all I needed to do to finish up was cook a pot of rice and put together a salad. Tada! Dinner!

After dinner more conversation and a game of 5 Crowns. If you are a card game type of family and you don't have this game, you should change that right away. I'll even help you with that by leaving affiliate links to the card game and some scoring sheets from Amazon if you wish. I will tell you that I always just use paper, but the score sheet idea seems kind of nice.

A Little Something

Like so many bloggers I have grand intentions that include posting often, beautiful pictures, compelling content. Like so many bloggers I fail but like so many eternally optimistic bloggers we come back and try again and again.

So here I am once again with a bare post, no pics today, filled with the intention and hope that I can keep this little cozy spot I have here on the internet more active.

So what's up with me? Not much as usual.

My daughter's family did come for a visit on my birthday in June and we had a great time! We spent a week at their house over the 4th of July holiday. They have done a great job of masking and only doing essential errands out of their home just like we do so we were comfortable spending time with them. We also spent one evening with my son and his wife. We shared good food, lots of movies and spent time playing card games like 5 Crowns and Tripoly. I highly recommend both of these games for family fun.

Beyond that I am still reading through my gift stash of books and knitting to use up more of the yarn I have collected over the years.

Jim's recovery from shoulder surgery is going well. He has physical therapy twice a week now and is making good progress. He does not have a full range of motion yet but each week is better than the one before.

Leave a comment and let me know how you are doing these days. I'd love to hear from you!

Labor Day Weekend

Hope all who read this had a great weekend and made some new fun memories. Jim actually had all three days off which in the hospital business is kind of rare. As I said in a previous post my son and daughter in law came to visit. We spent one day on the boat on Jackson Lake and another on a drive to Dubois, Wyoming for lunch.

Dubois has a great spot for lunch, the Nostalgia Bistro. I have linked the name for you to use for more information about location and menu. Just across the street and a few doors down is a great coffee shop that is worth your time. We all got drinks for the ride home there. For more about this great place click here.

The evenings were spent with card games like 5 Crowns and Cribbage. The cribbage board pictured shows one of my very few wins and the fact that I double skunked my daughter in law and that never happens. She plays cribbage very well. As a beginner I would jokingly accuse her of making up rules so that she would always win.
