I am so excited to be around all the animals that can be found in the Jackson area.
During the holidays while wandering around getting to know the area we got to see elk, moose, deer, bison and big horn sheep. Some day I would like a chance to see the wolves of Yellowstone and I should have plenty of time to get that accomplished, if not this year then the next.
I wish my pictures were better but I just had a point and shoot with me and no tripod. With all the possibilities for finding these neighbors out and about I am sure I will bore you with many more pictures of them in the years to come.
I would encourage any visitor to Jackson WY this time of year to go to the east end of town past the hospital and creep along The National Elk Refuge Road. The views of the elk, bison and sheep were amazing and different every time.
Wow you are so lucky,,,so are you all moved up there now??
ReplyDeleteNot yet but I am planning to be there by the first of February.
ReplyDeleteLove those pics. What do you use when you have your tripod? Be looking forward to some more great shots.
ReplyDeletelol: I had to look back at your post to figure out how to spell tripod. Hope I'm not losing it.
I have a Nikon D70 that does very well. With a tripod I don't have to worry about a steady hand. I have a couple lenses that would have let me get closer, clearer pictures.
ReplyDeleteI am not an expert but if I take enough pictures sometimes something great shows up.
pictures are well composed. i wish we got snow down here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment F.Wakeling. I know they weren't perfect and could use some editing. It also would have been better if I got the other end of the moose but it would not cooperate.
ReplyDeleteIt's been YEARS since I have been to Jackson Hole country! I weant to take my hubby, who has never been! Hope we can make it this summer! Thanks for posting this!
ReplyDeleteAbby, I have only seen fall and winter so far. I am looking forward to the first summer in many years when July and August are not consistently over 110 degrees. Maybe we will cross paths if you make it.
ReplyDeleteHope you are settled in enough to enjoy the Super Bowl if you like that sort of thing. Take good care, stay warm.
