Letting Go
We made the choice to let go of our 13 yr. old companion today.
He was just tired and weak. He had given up eating over the weekend as if he had made the choice for himself.
I'm so sorry about Patches. You did the right thing, though. As a responsible pet owner, you are to be commended. Patches brought much joy to your family, I'm sure.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words. It sure feels strange this morning waking up in a house without him.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to read this today. I agree with Nancy, sometimes the hardest thing is saying goodbye, but it is the kindest thing we can do for them.
ReplyDeleteI will be thinking of you.
We miss him too. But we feel it was for the best. We have explained to the kids that he has gone to a better place and will not hurt anymore.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to let a loving pet go. Peace to your family.
ReplyDeleteKathy - I'm sorry Patches is gone. I know how big a strain that is, when a beloved pet leaves. All my blessings to your family, {:-Deb
ReplyDeleteThanks again everyone for all the kind words.
ReplyDeleteBlessings.
