Reading 2009- A Mercy by Toni Morrison

I am continuing my posts of books with A Mercy by Toni Morrison. This book along with two other recent books I read concern the roles and suffering of women and children in male dominated societies. Each of them were placed in different countries and culture.

Any piece of work by Toni Morrison is worth reading. This author has won a Pulitzer Prize for fiction and the Nobel Prize for literature. The Nobel citation said,
Toni Morrison, "who in novels characterized by visionary force and poetic import, gives life to an essential aspect of American reality."
I just can't say it better than that. Even though she was awarded the honor in the 90's her tradition exposing us to an essential aspect of American reality continues.
