Hello World

I did something last week, had the camera with me and took no pictures. Typical of me I suppose, most of my life is half done, nearly done or undone. Sometimes the guilt of that bothers me and sometimes I say "Oh hell, life goes on. Get over it".

Anyway what I did last week was go on a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate 38 years of being married. We had a comped suite at the Luxor which was nice except for the Vegas standard of no coffee makers in hotel rooms. (Hint for Vegas hotels- Look I get the reasoning but many of us would come downstairs in a much better mood if we could have a cup of coffee first.)

We spent most of a day using the pool and a cabana and loved it. Cabanas at the Luxor include soft drinks and bottled water, snacks, a tv, misters to fight the heat, lounge chairs, towels and wait staff that comes by so you can order drinks from the bar or meals to be delivered to your little place in the shade.

Inbetween dips in the pool and eating lunch I read a book I brought along.I finished it after I got home. I was reading "Next" by Michael Crichton. I enjoyed the story and the fast pace of the details unfolding.

Mornings our meals were at the cafe or the buffet which have the standard expected choices and were all nicely done. One night we tried the Rice Restaurant inside Luxor and loved it. Our favorite off the menu was the Fantasy Roll.

I got home for the Zibbet relaunch and my shop made the transition smoothly after being on vacation the week before. I have some pictures to clean up because I am not satisfied with them in the new look but I will get there.

Also Lehane Arts on Etsy is our Group2020 shop of the week. You can find out a bit about that shop from the blog post I wrote for the Group2020 team blog.

So what's new with you? Anyone?

Shop of the Week Lanmon Originals

I am not typically a sentimental person. Being married to the same man for 38 years on the 24th of July can change that a bit even if it is temporary. So being in that state of mind I have a lovely bracelet to share with you from our Group2020 featured shop of the week.

Isn't this a lovely bracelet? The seed beads used to crochet and create this beautiful accessory are in the warm colors that I find myself wearing more and more these days. I also really like that the metal bead has "love" on one side and a heart on the other.

Where did I find such beauty, talent and style?
Lanmom Originals on Etsy and if you take the time to browse I am sure you will find something you like too.

Young knitters, old knitters, hip knitters, traditional knitters: they all enjoy different styles. But every knitter from age 5 to 95 needs a good dictionary of stitches.  400 Knitting Stitches is a comprehensive guide that invites knitters to experiment with a variety of new stitch combinations. The book is conveniently divided into eight categories: knit-purl, crossed and cables, slipped, lacy, double, twisted, cast-off, and fancy stitches.  Making a romantic lacy wrap or a classic cable sweater? Whatever your style, there's a stitch in here for you.

Each of the 400-plus featured stitches is accompanied by easy-to-follow written and charted instructions,as well as a full-color photograph. A section on basic knitting information and techniques at the front of the book makes this volume even more invaluable.

From advanced knitters experimenting with their own designs to beginners looking for clear instruction and explanation, 400 Knitting Stitches is an essential reference for knitters of all kinds.

Above is a quote from the inside cover of the book 400 knitting stitches. The kind of book that keeps me awake at night dreaming of possibilities. Does that make me strange? If so I can live with the label. I tend to collect stitch dictionaries because each of them have a unique perspective even though it is all knits and pearls.

This book was one of the things I got while shopping on my birthday way back in June. Remember on Monday I told you about how I do things, go places, take pictures and don't get posts written? Well this is one post towards not doing that so much any more.
Till next time -

Exquisite Studios

Well I haven't blogged in awhile. I do things, go places, take pictures meaning to share them here and then, well I am sure most of you know how it goes. Maybe someday I will share more of those moments, but today I am sharing a wonderful shop on Etsy. Exquisite Studios is our Group2020 shop of the week.

Group2020 is a small group of artisans who have met here and there around the web and have joined together to promote each other with pins, tweets, facebook posts, G+ posts and blog posts. Some of us are more active on one social media outlet than another and it all works out. Look for us on Twitter to be using #group2020 to see our featured shop and items each week.

NOW on to sharing Exquisite Studios!

The ring is absolutely beautiful and I love it. I wasn't really looking for a ring but then I saw it and knew it was the one for me. Emily is so great to work with and she has such amazing pieces. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on her shop :)
Let me just say that this ring is even MORE beautiful in person! Its so unique and I get compliments on it DAILY. I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase, and the customer service of this shop is outstanding!
Above are just a couple of the many glowing reviews of what you can find in this shop filled with stunning pieces of vintage jewelry brought back to life by this talented artisans hands. If I had to pick a favorite it would be an impossible task but I will show you a couple items that caught my eye while looking over the shop to prepare this post.
