New Project

I found myself wandering through stores in Riverton Wyoming this past weekend. Kmart was having an end of season blowout with winter things for $1.99. I found some tops and a jacket. Some of them are what I would call cute and some just basic tops but for that price I chose to pick up a few. I am notorious for not wearing an apron and getting spots on my shirts while cooking. For the price I paid I don't care.

Across the main road from Kmart is a Walmart. To kill time and pick up some things I went there too. They carry Caron's Simply Soft Yarn which I wanted to look at. As you may know each year I make a baby blanket for the local hospital to give to the first baby of the new year. I figured it would be a good time to get that started and done because I plan to be a busy shop owner come this fall.

I found a color that I thought was cheerful and neutral. Raverlry helped me find a pattern and the knitting has begun. Here it is so far.

New Home

Well we made it! We had help from a son in law and two wonderful grandkids. I got us packed and ready for the truck. Kevon and Jim loaded and unloaded. I got us out of boxes in a couple days. We all finished with sore muscles and exhaustion but it is all done now.

I don't have to worry anymore about Jim and Teton Pass all winter. He can now walk to work if he wants to in about 5 minutes. I am really looking forward to being in town especially this summer because Jackson is celebrating it's centennial this year.

Those cups I talked about being 40 years old made it to the new place and have a new place too.

I have new views out my windows. I almost feels like Snow King is in my backyard.

As I was beginning to organize what to start packing in my kitchen today I found these cups tucked away in the back corner of a high shelf. One of my first jobs after high school was pouring greenware in a ceramics shop. My boss wanted me to understand the process of completing a piece of ceramics so I made these and gave them to my Mom. She passed them back to me not long ago. As you can see from the bottom they have my maiden name initials and the date of April 1974. 40 years ago this very month! Time sure flies!

Yes I guess I just told you all I am moving - again. There is a thing up here for renters I have heard called the Jackson Hole shuffle. We are leaving Idaho and moving back to Jackson very close to the hospital where Jim works. No more worries about Teton Pass all winter long so this is a good thing.

Now that I have distracted myself from what I should be doing for a minute I had better get back to packing.
