Life gets better.......

Life does get better for Cinderella and that is why it is one of my favorite fairy tales. I am not silly enough to wish for a prince and a castle but when you are married to a great guy it feels like the fairy tale anyway no matter where you live.

From Wikipedia I learned-
Cinderella (French: Cendrillon, German: Aschenputtel, Spanish: Cenicienta, Italian: Cenerentola, Portuguese:Cinderela), is a well-known classic folk tale embodying a myth-element of unjust oppression/triumphant reward. Thousands of variants are known throughout the world.[1] The title character[2] is a young woman living in unfortunate circumstances which suddenly change to remarkable fortune. The word "cinderella" has, by analogy, come to mean one whose attributes are unrecognised, or one who unexpectedly achieves recognition or success after a period of obscurity and neglect. The still-popular story of Cinderella continues to influence popular culture internationally, lending plot elements, allusions, and tropes to a wide variety of media.
In another way many of us who sell our heartfelt, handcrafted creations are hoping for a Cinderella moment. That would be when your work is recognized and appreciated in a big way. Our feelings are fragile and we patiently work and wait for the day when it all happens and our work is suddenly known and sought after.

I hope it comes my way soon because it is getting hard to work in these glass slippers, :}

Handmade in My House

I have set out on a new series of posts here at Cozy's Stitches. I will still feature artists and crafters and their work but a couple times a week I will be showing you what I have in my life that is handmade. I will show you the things that I made myself and the things Jim and I have collected.

To organize this project I will go room by room and show off the big things, little things, decorative things and useful things. We are starting in the master bathroom with something I made. This useful rug tickles my feet and dries my toes every morning.I found myself with a lot of that fabric that you wonder why you really every bought. You sewers know exactly what I am talking about. The kind of stuff that calls to you from the clearance table. You don't have a project in mind but maybe you just might use it someday. This rug used a lot of that kind of fabric up for me. I crocheted a base and latch hooked short fabric strips onto it. The rug is thick and heavy and feels wonderful to step on.What do you have in your life that you use or enjoy every day that is handmade? Feel free to leave a comment about it and even a link if you have posted about your handmade life on a blog.

New Advertiser

I noticed a new ad on my blog. Being the curious sort that I am I decided to check out the site. It is titled Nanny Deprived. I still remember my young mom days filled with laughter, tears, joy and an overwhelming sense that I was always just barely keeping up with what I needed to do.

The home page of Nanny Deprived has a short quiz on it guaranteed to make you smile if you have ever spent much time caring for little ones.

Go ahead and check it out. Come back and let me know what you think.

Shameless Promotion

Do you run Project Wonderful ads? Are you seeing this post from a reader? If so you may want to come on over to the blog. I want you to know that I have reactivated my ad box with Project Wonderful. I put this set of five 125 by 125 spaces right under my header on this blog. How much more above the fold can you get. Absolutely no scrolling to see your ad is needed. The minimum bid on these spaces is 0. Yes I said zero! I like my little bird picture but would really like to see some other things there.
