I Love to Read!

I will read anything almost and love to go to book stores and libraries. About the only thing I don't like in reading or movies are horror stories. My latest batch of books are due back at the library tomorrow and I thought I had better get my reading list up to date. I have added four books to the list. They were all good reads and I enjoyed spending time with them.

I read-

  • Finding Marie by Susan Page Davis
    • This story was ok. Personally it was a little to religious for me but those with strong beliefs would enjoy it I think.
  • How to Rig an Election by Allen Raymond
    • An interesting look at how campaigns are run. I suppose I should say run by some but maybe not all. I was as full of  tricks as you suspect.
  • Whitethorn Woods by Maeve Binchy
    • As always one of my favorite authors. If you enjoy stories about contemporary Ireland you need to find her books!
  • The English American by Alison Larkin
    • There is a lot to this book, contrasts of countries and cultures, adoption issues for the child and parents and finding your way as a young adult. I really enjoyed reading this!

If you have read any of them and wish to leave a comment I encourage you to do so. If you have any recommendations for me I would love to hear them as well.

  1. I have a book of the month on my blog, and Stormy is going to make a tab for me, right Stormy? Anyway, you might have read my review on "Nuns"; I have another review coming up for June.

    Nice to see another bookworm!

  2. If I could just figure out how to read and knit I would be in heaven. I am too visual a person for audio books to work for me. Yes I am definitely a fellow bookworm.

  3. Hey, thanks for mentioning my book, Finding Marie. You know, some people like a strong faith thread in their books and some don't. That's okay. To me it's natural for someone in trouble to reach out for God's help. But I don't like it when that help comes as a miracle. In my books, I show how God prepares the characters for troubles they will face and gives them the tools and good sense to get out of the situation. Marie outwitted her pursuers in the end. I hope you'll be brave and read the next in this series, Inside Story, coming out January 1, 2009. Nice blog!

  4. I feel so special to have the author find my little blog and leave a comment. I did enjoy the book Finding Marie. I don't have a faith based life by choice but I never mean to show any disrespect to those that do.
